I have been recently been told that stainless steel induction cones i.e blitz sus

power, are bad for the engine as they suck up unwanted dirt and water?!? I

currently have on under by SR's bonnet, it sounds lovely but is it doing damage??? :!Removed!:

I was also told that the best type of filter to use is a foam one, i.e k&n. Is this

right and what do you think i should do. Cheers everyone Toby

It depends where the filter is.

Any induction kit will suck up dirt and water... as sera said, if it's in the wrong place i.e. close the floor where it's vulnerable to water (especially in this climate)..

but I think what you probably should have been told is that blitz filters are notoriously bad for filtration because they use only metal to filtrate the air...

As a result there's nothing you can do to prevent poor filtration if your filter cone filtrates poorly anyway.

I'd recomend you change to apexi as it's widely regarded that apexi filters give best filtration combined with very good performance, there's a test on a supra with all the usual suspects of induction filters on the web somewhere to show you just how good each filter is
