Service Parts Avensis 1998

hi everyone,

I'm looking for a website where I can order a distributor cap and rotor for an avensis 1998 petrol sedan. This will be the first time that I'll be ordering any car part online (hoping for a discounted price conpared to dealer rate).

However I have no idea of the part number of the distributor cap/rotor and also of reputable toyota parts suppliers online. I'm thinking that they will have OEM parts but I guess that OK?

Looking forward to your advice/tips. I have limited experience working on my car, but I'm determined to start with these little things to fix that over time.

thanks!

The Avensis does not have rotor arms and distributor caps! Well not the UK version. There is no distributor, but the coils is connected directly to the spark plugs via HT leads. My car - 1.8 has a pair of coils.

The elecronics take care of the firing timing. If you are to do any replacing of the parts, you need to know the year, engine size, as well as the make and model. The vin or chassis number also helps.

You can go to a site call Toyodiy to get part numbers, but you must register so see the images.

If you have any problem with the ignition system, start with the plugs and leads. If you have the 1.6/1.8 engines you need the Iridium spark plugs or platinum.

The leads have to be good quality too.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you! I was afraid no body was going to reply :-)

The car is an EU model, frame #AT220. The website you suggested is excellent (even I can see that!). I found the part numbers: 19101‑02020 and 19102‑02020. Using the cross linking functionality on the website shows that it is also used in UK models carina-e 1992-1997.

Do you think I can find the parts online? I tried to Google with the part numbers but didn't get anywhere.
