Bit of a 'trainspotterish' one this  , but seen something similar on a motorbike website I follow...

Driving down the M4 the other day, spotted a RAV4 with the number plate XT05 RAV (and it was) - was that one of us?

And to follow up, what other interesting RAV spottings have you all made round the place? :gora:

Correct me if I,m wrong but I am sure that when the Rav4 XTR first came out about 2007 it did have a spare on the back door. Toyota then went down the no spare route after 3 or 4 months and dropped the spare off the back door. I,m sure it was about this time they also dropped the range from the XT.s to just the XTR and T180, that later became the SR180.

Hi Clare,

when I bought my XT5 in March 2008 the dealer was unsure if the car would arrive with or without a spare wheel mounted on the back door. The catalogue said that it would but web site and the dealer were unsure. At that time the full model range ( XT3,4,5 XTR and T180 ) was still available. It may have been when the facelift was launched in 2009(?) that the model range was restricted. Trust that your "little corner of heaven" has returned to normal until the Manx GP?

You are obviously right Clare, thats what the salesman said, it was kind of a changeover model, and for a few months was available with a spare on the back, just I personally was not aware of its existence..Stew

My July '08 XTR [built May '08] didn't have the 'spare on the rear' and it wasn't shown in the brochure either by then.

Sorry Chris missed your bit about TT2011, it was absolute quality this year. Watched every race live and had quality nights in the Busheys Beer Tent on the prom. Can,t wait for next year.

Hi Clare,

my interest goes back to the 1960's when a lad I went to school with won the sidecar TT. You will probably need to ask your grandad about that era though  ;)
