Hello Ladies & Gents

hope all is well with you all this fine wet evening in Scotland, :crybaby: cant wait for winter to arrive at least then I wont be looking forward to taking the barbie out and rolling it back in to the garage again :yes: :yes: LOL ok the reason i,m posting tonight is how hard is it to wire up a tow-bar on my 55 plate Rav2 5 door i,m not totally hopeless :wacko: :wacko: but any help would be appreciated and Charlie I seen one of your posts that said it was'nt really that wet up here in jock land i,m beginning to wonder if I should have bought a boat instead of a Rav4

If you are OK with wiring then its just a case of splicing into the rear light wires (unless you want 12S).

If you want it really easy then some of the towbar companies do kits with plugs - you just unplug the rear lights and put these inbetween.

Anchorman,

as you no doubt remember, Toyota themselves do a wiring kit for a towbar. Parts King supplied mine and it was foolproof ( well it would have to be wouldn't it! )and easy to fit. Just unplug the existing plugs and sockets on the lights and plug the kit in. Well worth the money. I've always spliced in the past but this method is infinitely preferable. I have a diagram somewhere that shows how to convert a 12S / 12N setup to the new 13 pin socket arrangement. I'll post it if it would be helpful.
