Hiya

I posted a similar tread a few weeks back.

Basically im gonna buy myself a

Sony CDX-F7500 Head Unit £189.99

Infinity 5002i 13cm Mids £60

Infinity 9603i 6x9's £50

But the problem i have is that Halfords want £85 to fit it, and their not to happy about fitting it into a Yaris (shame on them)

Can anyone recommend some where cheap who can fit, or even fit for me (beer or some dollar is waiting.

Being a student, i have many different locations i will be over the next 4-5 weeks, including :

-Loughborough

-Penrith

-Bath

Cheers all

PS: Oh yeah, what do you lot think to the Speakers i have chosen? I was gonna go for Sony, but the Infinitys sounded a lot better

Thanks all

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yea good choice of Speakers mate Infinitys r good, ive got some pioneer 6x9s at the mo.

With regards to the 6x9s u fitting them stright to the shelf, or going with a stelth shelf???

I had a few probs trying to get mine wired in, i fitted and hid all wiring myself but wasnt confident enough to wire so i shoped about, few places wouldnt touch it becuase of toyota wiring style, they werent too happy with it.

Id recomend going with a specialist, say for car audio and alarm systems, check in the friday ad, or yellow pages, usualy some listsing for ur area. Thats how i got mine done, didnt cost to much either £20 i think, not to bad..

all the best

Chuck

Just gonna stick them onto the OE Parcel shelf. When i come to get to get a new car (wont be for about 3-4 years), ill prob either sell them with the car, or get a new shelf

Hiya again,

Ive been shopping around, and ive found these, the infinity 5000CS, components. CLICK here see them

Will them fit directly into the door, and is it possible to get the little tweater to sit on the dash, with out knackering up the dash board

Still gonna go with the 6x9s, Click here to see

I've been thinking. Im gonna be getting the sony headunit, the 6x9s and the components. Would it possible for one of you guys to help me fit it (im no expert  )

Im sure we could come to some monetary agreement , as you guys know what your doing when it comes to Yaris, Halfords sadly dont.

Thanks

Im in the Loughborough (Leics) area, or the Bath area for a couple of weeks over my uni easter holiday

Thanks :group-cuddles:

The infinitys will fit the door nicely looking at the width and depth. You will need a spacer/adapter for the door.

I hesitate to recomend the 6x9 in the rear as the sound stage will tend to be rear biased.

the component tweeter will fit in the dash just use a metal strip to hold it. to open the grill, just use a penknife and carefully prise off.

some instalers use the stock door Speakers as rear effect Speakers ie set at low output. ie front Speakers are powered by an external amp and the rear by the output from the head unit.

Tried both 6x9s in the rear and door Speakers.... settled for door Speakers and dash tweeters in the end.

The Yaris was a doddle to wire up too... Read Jaxx's How-To above the main Yaris Forum and you'll have that sucker off in about 5 minutes! REALLY! A philips screwdriver and a bit of pulling is all it takes.

The wiring's simple - buy the Toyota block connector from the afore-mentioned Halfrauds at £11.99 and your Sony will plug straight in. I managed to fit four new Speakers, wire them, and fit an amp and bass box in just half a day. And I'm proper **** with anything complex. My mates call me "The Mechanical F*ckwit"!

No m8, wait till it's a half decent day, give the door cards a pull....pop pop pop. No probs.

Save urself some money, they charge wot - £20, get some polish or summat instead!

5 1/4" are the equiv of 13cm, i think anything bigger and ull have trouble with the doorcards being in the way....

quite remember who and where, but i read on here that to change the ones in the door , you need to drill out the rivets, then re-rivet? Is that the case, or can i just simply unscrew the toyota ones, and then just rescrew on my ones?

Oh one last question, where would the wire from the speaker in the door run, to get the component on the dash

ta

no they are riveted in so its a case of bangin an 1/8th drill through em

as for the tweeters then mount the crossover unit behind the dash and run the wires into the door for the mid and simply run the tweeter wires up the back of the dash board

  • 1 year later...

1 question is, the T2 Yaris shelf is very thick and I find that having the Speakers actually in the boot deadens the sound, is there a Thinner shlf available ?
