Aha another Milton Keyney!! I shall have to keep an eye out for you :) Mine is instantly recognisable by the 'Planet Rock' window stickers and the 'Loyaltoyota' one on the back!

Hehe, mine's a silver 2nd generation T-Spirit with all but the Toyota and Synergy Drive badges removed (the synergy Badge has red text rather than black) and it has a stubby little beesting aerial. Nothing you'd notice from any distance :)

I really like the look of the Prius in black but I owned a black car once, it was a nightmare to keep clean and every single tiny polishing scratch looked like the end of the world. I vowed never to buy another black car. I still take a second look when I see one driving past though (!)

lol So I'll be flashing every silver Gen 2 I see now, one way to make new friends I guess!

Try EV mode around them.. It will pop out of EV and back to normal itself when you leave the roundabout, but all accelleration will be on EV and not on the engine...

Good call. Will give that a go next time I hit Chichester on the A27. Mpg always drops noticably when I go through there.

I don't try hard to drive economically and I am very pleased with the figures that I achieve.

This weekend (on Saturday morning) I drove from Ampthill to Liverpool, the weather was foul and there was a lot of braking and accelerating as I tried to maintain 70 m.p.h. on the motorway. On Sunday we went over to Manchester, again driving mostly on motorways, but with better weather and the cruise control set to 70 until we got onto the Manchester outer ring where I had to drive "manually" because of the traffic density and the complicated junctions.

We went on to Dukinfield later and then headed home over the High Peak towards the M1. Poor weather again with a lot of standing water adding to the problems of the steep slopes and the sharp bends of the Peak District roads but pressing on wherever possible in order to get home in reasonable time. And eventually on to the M1 back to Bedfordshire with the usual Sunday evening hassle of queueing traffic etc. It got so bad eventually that I pulled off at Newport Pagnell and did the last part of the journey down the country lanes.

And the overall result for a journey of 377 miles - 60 m.p.g. indicated on the in-car computer.

I filled up this morning and the actual consumption for the tankful was 58 m.p.g

Blimey, Chichester is a real wotsit.... 70mph and 5 roundabouts, all require a quick geaway too from what I can remember...
