Engine Management Warning Light

Hi,

I have just bought a Previa 2.4 GS (2001).

Unfortunately the engine management light had come on as soon as I drove it out of the car forecourt.

As I was the last customer, I knew I could not just turn back and complain, but had to drive home.

Tha car apparently(according to thr enclose service invoices, had developed this before, about 60 K earlier.

The owners manual shows this to be a possible engine or automatic transmission problem.

Has other Previa owners had this problem, and what had caused it?

Was it the very worst thing that can happen to a car?( engine failure/Auto box failure?)

Thanks for any feedback

Pjotrus

welcome to the forum. try posting the question in the MPV of family car sections.

I guess your car is a front wheel drive vvti engine model? Or is it the original mid-engine model (can't remember when the new model came in).
