I've Gone And Done It!

Hi Guys and Girls

Well i've gone and put down a deposit on a 59 plate Avensis 2.2 D-cat Auto today for pick up next week. I had my heart set on a T-spirit and they are extremely rare, so much that I don't think i've seen another on the road yet. I just couldn't let the opportunity pass me by. The spec is huge and looking forward to picking it up!

Why do I need luck?

I believe most of the problems with the 2.2 engine were pre the latest 2009 onwards model. The only fault of this year i could find (irrespective of some electronic hand brake issues) were DPF's clogging after lots of short journeys.

Good choice going for the T Spirit model.... NOT so sure about the 2.2 ? ?

I've had a lot of bad reports about the 2.2 so I went for the 2.0 d4d. Mines a 2004 & I love it ! Only slight pain is the tyre\road noise... Easily cured tho,,,, turn up the volume on your stereo !

Thanks, although the 59 plate is the new avensis which is different from the 2004 model and doesn't suffer from as much road noise and from what I understand (and hope!!) the 2.2 doesn't have the same problems associated with the previous model. It's under warranty for another 18months so should the worst happen in that time I should be ok.
