New Avensis Owner With A Technical Problem!

Hi,

I have just bought an R-Reg 2.0 Avensis and I'm delighted with it. Very please to have joined the club  . I do however have one problem with it and I wondered if anyone had experienced the same and might be able to offer some advice?

One of the first things I did was to have the air con charged - but I was decidedly underwhelmed at the result. I've now realised what the problem is. It would seem that the vent selector is set to 'windscreen' and wherever I set the switch, it doesn't seem to change anything so I'm not getting a nice strong blow from the dash vents.

Just wondered if this is a common fault and if there is an easy fix? Please let me know if you can help!

I'm not familiar with the system on your model but the vents are moved electrically. If you select Auto they will select what the computer decides. Try switching auto off and move the vent selector to what you want. It could also be a fuse that controls the vent motors. Not sure which fuses on your model but on 2003 + they are 41,68,74

Crikey! It hadn't crossed my mind that it might be something as simple as a fuse! My wife is away for the weekend with the car but I shall be sure to check this on Monday. I will also have a Google and investigate this pollen filter too. Thanks for your advice guys - I will let you know if I have any luck  .

P.S. My car is a 2.0 CDX Auto and is a 1998 model - not 1996 as it says in my details which I will change shortly.
