My car is an Avensis T-180 estate on a 2007 plate which has already a built in Sat Nav screen that rolls up out of the top of the dash with the controls that a placed by the handbrake/gearstick. I've no idea what model number it is and it works ok, but I've always wanted the TNS700 voice system one that lives in the centrol console.

I've bought a used (What I think is a) TNS700 that has printed on the lower right hand side of the screen B9000. I'm not sure if it works or not so is there anyway for powering it up without having to rip the already cd player out of my dash (Anyone tried to do this)?

Also is it possible to install the unit using the exsisting wires that run to the original unit?

Printed on the white sticker are a load of numbers...

PZ445-00331-01

86113-60V550

EA03A1

e13

021447

The screen is not sitting flush with the unit so I'm guessing that it may have some problems with the screen motor ect. Does anyone know where I could get it tested and repaired if it doesn't work please? And if anyone knows if this is a TNS700 unit and if its an early or late model?

Any help or info would be very welcomed...

Cheers guys

PS... I've no idea why when I write sat nav it redirects you to some page!!! What a pain in the :censor:

Any ideas?

Hi mate, the only thing I can suggest is have a look at the attachments that I added with my reply to tham6379 earlier today in regards to the audio/visual system. Apart from that I don't really know but I would think Toyota would use a common wiring loom in the Avensis to suit all the differnent TNS systems they offer like the 300/500/700 series satnavs.

Regards Pete.

Hi,

I think you have bought TNS600 and not TNS700. As it is B9000 so its TNS600.

I think at the back of stereo there are 2-3 plugs for different wires.

One of it will be ok but the other one if different.

The best thing to do would be download the installation guideliness for TNS600 and for your old TNS (500 I guess) and compare the wiring, GPS antennas and rest of the stuff.

That will give you better idea.

Cheers.

Hi Sam,

Thats was I was thinking that its the 600 rather than the 700 model. It was sold to me as the TNS700 so I'm going to see if I can get it to work or I'll send it back. Can you use the same sat nav discs for the 700 as well as the 600? I bought some E11 discs ages ago but I've never used them...

I am under the impression that tns700 disc will not work in tns600.

Awww no! I think I've got the ones for the TNS 700 discs then. Ther're the E11 discs. Think I might have to put them on old eBay...

My TNS700 says B9010 on it.

Mine says B9000 on it so I'm guessing its the 600 model rather than the TNS700 one I wanted. But as soon as I get a chance I'll try and fit it in the car and see if it works. Does anyone know what the main differences are between the two? As apart from the 4 buttons at the bottom of the screen ( Mine are in a line with no spaces) they look the same to me.
