Oil Filters

Hi. Prius T Spirit 1497cc, DoR Mar 2008. Gen ??. I'm doing typically 5k miles per year and have settled into a routine of annual oil and filter changes. The recommended oil filter is part no. 90915-YZZJ1 and that was used last year. I've heard recently that there is a physically larger version of the oil filter. I assume that it must give better long term filtration?? Does anyone have any experience? I've no complaints whatever about the car: one simply gets in and drives away. J

90915-YZZJ1 is the correct filter for your car, there are other filters (a bit taller) that hold more oil, for other model Toyota's, that would fit, but they are not specified for your car, best sticking to the right one IMHO, just because it might hold a bit more oil, does not mean it might give long term better filtration

Kingo, thanks for reply; I accept your opinion. As an aside, I recently achieved the magic 60 mpg. It was over two fillings for long journeys but even so! J
