Our car is a 2005, the tomtom was hard wired but now is so old we'd like to upgrade it to a newer model. does anyone have any info on the current sanav they use and is it simple to switch over? i'm guessing we may need a new shelf/surround but we like the hard wired satnav. I'm guessing the base for the old tomtom wont be any good for the newer models? The one in the car now looks like an old telly!

Of the one you have looks like an old TV it's probably an old "Go" Series, I think they used to give you a Go 500 or Go 300.

Meanwhile there's been about 5 changes to the connections, So I'm afraid you can't get anthing fitting anymore.

If you really want a hardwired option you could opt for the SatNav in the Navgator-models, but they're VERY expensive...
