Hi J

Just from experience. You should get roughly about 40k out of your front brake discs and your tyres. The rears you may get 60-80k unless they have been seized.

I put one's car not too long ago, in for a service and mot £320. 2wks later a had to replace the rear discs and pads. I questioned if the rear brakes had been checked in the service and they said they had and had marked the paperwork as amber(advisory). The car had done about 200miles after the service. They could have highlighted the fact the inboard pads were next to non existant.

About 4yr earlier, 1st mot I got phone call saying all brake discs/pads required replacing.(pitted/corrosion) 16k on the car. Quoted £750. :o Told them to leave it and I would check/do them myself. I checked the pads/discs and they were fine.

4yr later thats all the pads/discs just been replaced in the last 2mth, now at 43k. Cost £152 for the lot, including genuine Toyota pads and Blueprint discs. :)
