I'm not an expert on these but it does sond like the LCD has given up the ghost! Try having a look on eBay for a replacement one or see if there is any member close to you in Staffs that is willing to take a look at it if they're handy with these kinda issues. Sorry I cant be of more help mate...

I use to live in Staffs! Love to be abl to get the Oak cakes down here duck!

Hi Adam

Ive got an 07 plate avensis without the sat-nav. Afew months ago the display on mine went blank so I took it to Mr T. They took it out of the car and sent to their local guy (who is supposed to be THE MAN for anything to do with in-car-entertainment! He diagnosed a U.S. Display screen (surprise surprise) Mr T. tried to got a new L.C.D. Screen but was told by the manufactors (PANASONIC) They would not supply the Screen on its own.

This left two options = either a new radio/cd. player @ nearly £900 or a reconditioned unit with a 2yr warranty at a cost of £435.00 inc fitting and v.a.t.. which is the option i chose.

I did think about one of E Bay but decided against it `cos there would have always been doubt how long it woud have lasted, and of course you would`nt get a warranty

Hope you get it sorted.

Hi when you say it went blank was there an orange backlight displayed and no information? Or was there nothing displayed at all? Sorry for the late reply.

Hi. I've got a 2013 toyota avensis. I just turned my car on and the screen went white. Nothing plays, no music or radio. Even the cd doesn't work???

I think this is a different, as it is totally different system in a newer generation car. Perhaps it should have been a new subject post?
Anyway, was the system working previously, the Battery disconnected or flat? If the power has been interrupted for whatever reason, the system might need a reboot with the SD map card in place. The SD memory card doesn't need to be in the unit, during normal use. It's when the car Battery is disconnected, that the SD card is needed to initialise the system during reboot, and reload the data. You might need to disconnect the power to reset the unit.

There could be other causes!
