Hi

Best place to start is the archived forum at www.townace.com - most questions about maintaining and improving the Townace/Liteace/Masterace can be found here.

In short, flush radiator annually and keep the anti-freeze levels right; check all coolant pipes for perishing - these can just let go and lunch your engine. Of course, a damaged rad will need replacing or recoring. Keep checking the oil levels and don't skimp on changing the oil and filters regularly (I do mine with a 10-40 semi-synthetic every 3000 miles -5000km and use a good quality Wix filter) The fan is a viscous coupling type and can fail so check it kicks in when it should, likewise the thermostat. Worth putting a new rad cap on too for peace of mind - not expensive.

The position of the engine means cooling is critical but a well maintained system should work just fine (my temp guage sits just below the vertical in normal running and never more than vertical when pushed hard) - which goes for the engine as a whole which will plod away for ever if you don't skimp on servicing and treat with respect due a 20 year old bus! These are well made vehicles and a properly sorted Townace will go on for years.

Best of luck.
