Intresting.....looks quite cool BUT probably more functional if you have a TMIC. Reminds me of the exotics etc :)

Could be...depends on what it was made of, if they were smart carbon fibre would be the go ;)

I THINK it uses one of those electric motor things to lift and close it.

I think it would be good if the panel over the engine bay was transparent a la Ferrari style. Then it would look pretty cool, though it would need to be lifted by electric motors, or maybe lifters. It would need some suppost, since I reckon it would feel pretty flimsy otherwise.
