It seems that every time i log on here there is a new thread about an engine replacement! Is there some kind of common problem with Toyota Rav engines or something?

My wife has a 2008 XTR. Should i be worried? What should i be looking out for?

Hi,

The thing you'll find with forums like this is it tends to "High light" certain problems! There will be thousands of other drives out there who do not have any issues with there cars. The main things you should look out for is if you notice th coolant level droping and white water marks on the engin cover and a ting of black in the coolant.

The others are that the heater doesnt blow out hot air in the cabin and the engine oil starts to drop. The dredded EGR valv gets clogged and the engine management lights come on the dash and it goes into "Limp mode". If you have any of there or are concerened, you shpild take a trip to the main dealer. :thumbsup:
