Hello all

Im happy to advise i have now joined the prius family and purchased the 2008 t spirit model last week which had a very low milage of 24000 on the clock.

to say i am happy is an understatement ...i purchased the car from the car shop in swindon at a very good price and filled the car up on the way back to Nottingham.......what a surprise i had in store 130 motoring and the petrol never moved from full...all be it with careful motoring not depressing the accelerator to sharply.

ive been after one for a while but needed to wait for this model to drop into my budget(average for this mileage and spec seem to be about 13k i managed to purchase mine for £10 600.

the prius is everything i hoped for and more :yahoo: .

two little interior problems i could do with some help with the manufacturers owners handbook is missing and also it was not supplied with any car mats, ive searched eBay and have an owners maunual but my question is are all models covered by a generic manual or is the t spirit a specific manual?

any info on good car mats would also be appriciated.

I think the manual is generic providing you have one for the right age range. Mine seems to cover all models.

Any questions you have in the interim though, just ask away!

The handbook is generic - you will see various items in there that are specific to particular models, but all are covered.

We had the Toyota car mats in Gen2 '08 model and again in our current gen3, no argument then, they don't move and no chance of getting caught under the accelerator!

enjoy the car

Hmm, two very different cars. The Prius would probably have to stay though, it's such a great all round every day car and so easy to live with.

The Porsche however is a great starter classic. Relatively reliable, decent rust resistance and cheap to own and work on.

you could try e-bay, but I suspect anyone selling a Prius will let the mats go with the car unless they are buying another Prius!

My 07 came without mats, I got mine off eBay from np-autoparts, they are good, they were supplied with plastic clips that fit in the holes in the main carpet to stop them moving, they were very helpful.

Have you checked the price at your Toyota dealer (or maybe Parts King on here)?

Make sure you use the hooks on the driver's mat to stop it sliding up under the pedals.

For 3rd party mats, I have used carmats4you who make tailored mats for many vehicles.

Not sure if they can supply the hooks [edit: website says fixings included] (the mats have the hook holes).

If you buy from Toyota, you should get the hooks included.
