Well! I paid about £400 for a jap kit because I wanted quality. However, I would check the engine and gearbox mountings and also the prop shaft before condemning it.

Was the judder in evidence before the solid clutch kit was fitted ??? If not the surely the problem lies with the new parts ??

Anchs is the Expert here though.. Am I right in saying that the DMF is there to smooth things out or is it the power pulses that the DMF smooths out ??

Anch. Did You fit a solid or DMF to Your car ? I'm going to get a new clutch fitted to My car when the engine gets done as I think not to would be .... Well just daft !! So should I ask them to fit a DMF at the same time of ask for a solid conversion ? I must say I'm more likely to fit just the new genuine equipment 3 piece clutch kit than the DMF as well...

My present clutch is just fine with no judders at all and the pedal is nice and light and very smooth in its operation. But I will still have it done while the labour content of the job is free !! Is there any point in asking for the old parts in case they can do Someone a favour or are they just fit for the bin.. Car is at 45K miles now.....

Am I right in saying that OE parts are made by LUK ???

Thanks and sorry to hijack the thread !!

Wee Charlie.

I had a late Model Transit just before I bought My Rav4.. I know it is a common conversion on the van but owners then started complaining of power pulsing and clutch judder that was not there before .............

CF

I fitted a SMF in a 4.2 belonging to a mate. I think I would fit a DMF in your T180 if I were in your shoes.

You are correct, the OE kit is LUK.
