Sump Cover Shot

Just changed the oil in my Gen 6 GTE (3SGE engine), picked a scab on the sump cover and oil started weeping out - rusted through - that's what you get with a clean angine that doesn't leak oil over the outside of the sump I spose (even after 225000miles!).

Anyone any suggestions where to get a replacement other than Mr T (at £190!!)

ps - is the 7AFE cover the same - I can get one of those?

or the 3SFE?

All fixed now. Found a scrappie prepared to let one go (they usually want to keep the engine complete). Unfortunately I think it came from an import model - there was no fitting for the oil level gauge. After a few days with the oil warning light blazing in my face, I reconnected the gauge with its sensor taped up and tucked it away in a tube in the engine bay. All looks good now (except need to pay more attention to the dipstick - at least it uses no oil between services normally)

Thats a new one! I've never seen a rusty sump on a gen6 before.
