I have bought a can of BG244 diesel injector cleaner

(its on offer from power enhancers)

I'm lead to believe it really is the dogs goolies so i am hoping its going to help with the bit of excessive black smoke from my 2.2

which BTW is doing the spot on mileage of 37.2mpg URBAN... which is near as damn what the Toyota people say the car should do according to the Toyota literature

the egr is clean so is the maf

ive tried everything else inc forte ,Wynn's Red Ex all to no avail

so the question is....is bg244...worth the money

In my opinion it worth the wonga. But there has just been a report from a member on here that in his view its not done its job on cleaning the EGR valve. But for me I think it does work to a point. As no fluid is going to completely clean a valve that is dirty.

I noticed a difference & the car will be getting it again after 10K.

I would be surprised if it can survive the combustion process and then go on to clean components in the exhaust stream so I can't see the EGR valve, etc gaining any benefit.

I have never used any fuel or oil addditive or any car over the past forty-odd years.

If an engine ain't performing correctly I fix it.:)

That may well be the case. All the reason not to buy expensive additives.
