Latest chain of events.

Put Toyota Avensis Verso 2002 petrol auto to garage for 32 point service and drivebelt change on Tuesday 21st July.

They try twice to change the drivebelt and get wrong drivebelt twice so old one goes back on.

Wife gets there at 3.30pm as that was when car was supposed to be ready.

Still not ready 1.5 hours later.

Eventually turns up 2 hours later.

Online they then ask for feedback which they got.

Fast forward to to today, 30th July, and malfunction light comes on.

Slowly drive it back home.

Check under bonnet and see that air filter housing isn't actually on correctly.

Check air filter and it's dirty and with leaves in it.

Air filter is a "check" item but it needs replaced.

Press horn by accident and nowt happens.

Check horn under the bonnet and small wire broken...

Guess what? Horn is a check item on 32 point service.

Not a happy person.

Do I trust the garage to have done the other work correctly? No.

Do I suspect the warning light appearing and the garage work is linked? Yes.

Can I prove it? No.

A couple of questions.

Where is the ODB socket in a Toyota Avensis Verso 2.0 VVTI petrol model?

Where's the best place to buy a ODB reader for the car - probably Fleabay.

Rant over.....blood pressure lowering. Thanks for listening.

Email sent to service manager at garage. Will see what happens.

Best way forward in these situations is just to remain calm and not get all worked up about it.

Keep a log of all communications between you and the garage
