Avensis O/s Front Rattle

Hi All

I have an 2000 Avenisis GS VVT-I Auto,which has a rattle from the front offside when i go over a bit of rough road,i have had the wheel off and cant find anything that could cause this rattle.I have found that a little pressure on the brakes when going over a bump or rough road and it doesent do this,am i write in thinking this is down to possable brake pads ? (which have plenty lining left)

Seem to recall a few old posts re Non-Toyota pads being fitted in Toyota calipers which were slightly smaller / thinner, which allowed them to rattle in the guides...? HAVE YOU HAD YOURS RELINED WITH NON TOYOTA BITS, PERHAPS...?

Thanks for yor repy Big Kev, i bought the car 4 months ago and havent replaced the pads,i thought it was the wheel trim at first as it only rattled now and then, but is getting worse and is noticable more now.

HI, IS THE RATTLE DEFINETLY COMING FROM THE WHEEL? DOES IT RATTLE ON IDLE OR JUST WHEN YOU DRIVE?
