Noisy Engine Fans?

Hi all.

Had my 2005 2ltr petrol Avensis for 3 months now. (41k mileage). I've noticed as the weather has warmed up, that once the car is at running temperature, if I get stuck for a few minutes in stationery or slow moving traffic the fans kick in to cool the engine. Thats obviously fine - but they seem really, really noisy. Its noticable even with the windows closed.- Sounds like the engine of a plane starting up! The temperature gauge stays smack in the middle of the readout, and the coolant level is at the max, so I can't see that there could be a problem; I've just never had a car with such noisy and noticable fans before. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal??!

Thanks for your help.

Maybe the fans are vibrating.

With the engine off, look down at the fans any cables touching or plastic parts loose?
