Can you tell the year a car was produced by the Chassis number and/or the model number? If so, how?

when i wanted mine, i just did a search against my chassis code (GX81), and it showed up a list with codes and build dates.

I had to find all of this out due to certain documents getting misplaced by Customs. Subsequently I couldn't get my car registered in the UK. I was told to contact Peter Jackson (not the lord of the rings one) at Toyota UK. He researched the car and produced a document to enable me to get the Sera registered. Cost 65 quid though.

when looking upto link chasie to manufacturing, found age of car to be

younger than regerstration document says .can this be an error from

DVLA,.should i bring this to there attention.
