Heavy Oil Consumption

Hi please can anybody tell me why my 2003 avenis 1.8vvti uses around a gallon of oil every 5weeks !! It only has 65000 miles on the clock, and it has no oil leaks.

The reason is simple - the piston rings are <I thought I could get past the swearing filter - what a sad muppet I am eh?>ed.

It's a well know design fault on the vvti engines, caused by pistons overheating, it took them until mid 2005 to fix it

Its a well known fault with the VVTi engines and starts at about 40,000 miles !Toyota if you had a full Toyota service history would help with the costs but on a 8 year old car I think that you will have no joy.
