Hi,New to toc This is my first topic, 2004 d4d 95000mls loss of power30 - 60 mph no accelaration drop down a gear it picks up (sometimes) when it does large black smoke from exhaust no warning lights at all, had diognostic check at main dealer £91 SAID POSSIBLE INJECTOR AND PIPE REPLACEMENT £2424 ONLY POSSIBLE!!! not going to spend this sort of money if only possible, has anyone got any ideas?

My 2007 diesel TR suffered something similar which was identified to be a clogged EGR valve. In fact the car had been burning lots of oil and this had damaged the engine. Apparently this was a common fault and Toyota ended up replacing my engine under warranty (even though it is 4 years old). The dealer said that Toyota would consider doing this with vehicles of up to seven years old so you may be at the cusp - if it is this at all. Have a look at some of the discussions on the forum about EGR valves.
