Hi,

Ive got a Gen6 St202 Uk Spec Celica which is a R Reg and nearly on 100K.

Now its started misfiring so i started by taking the plugs out to find plugs 1 and 4 where covered in oil and oil all over the rubber covers aswell plugs 2 and 3 are fine.

Now is this a common problem on Celicas, if it is what do i need to do?

Thanks.

Quite common for the Gen 6 I believe. I had this as I noticed oil in the spark plug 'holes'. First thing would be check to see if the rocker cover nuts are done up properly (as mine weren't and thankfully this was what was causing my problem). If the problem still exists then a new rocker cover gasket is the answer. Doesn't cost too much and can be done at home as it's a relatively easy job!

Cam Cover Gasket has gone. About £10 off eBay for a replacement gasket kit.

Takes about 20mins to do on an ST202.
