Another 2.2 D4D Problem

Just thought I would say a thank you to all on this forum who contributed to posts regarding the 2.2 cylinder head. After searching for and finding the information regarding the extended warrant programme I contacted Hodgson Toyota near Newcastle upon Tyne (Top Marks to them) who asked me to take it in for inspection. The service guy rang me asking if I would underwrite the labour charges which were over £650. I was a bit dubious about this but as he explained it could be something entirely different and could not say if Toyota would pay for it. I agreed and after about 2 weeks was told it was covered under warranty but the engine was on back order and I eventually got it back after 3 weeks with a new short engine fitted and no cost to me. So what can I say but well done Toyota UK and T O C UK. I almost paid for a new cylinder head gasket to be fitted which would not have lasted long and voided the warranty???? Phew!!!!!!!!

i hope they didnt just fit a short engine!!!!!! i expect you'll be going back pretty soon.......
