Does anyone know if the Shell Helix Diesel Ultra AF-L 5W-30 Fully Synthetic is suitable?

My owners manual states that for the 1ND-TV engine fitted with a DPF catalytic convertor 0W-30 is used at manufacture and is the best choice. Without DPF catalytic convertor - 0W-30 or 5W-30 is OK. However oil below ACEA C2 may damage the cat - the oil you've identified is ACEA C1 which presumably is below the required spec.

If you go on the Shell website and enter you reg number they advise you which of their oils is suitable for your engine.

I've gone with the Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, which meets the specifications for my 1AD-FTV engine.

Better to be safe then sorry.
