Hi Anchorman

When you did your timing belt in the pinned section, how did you get the crankshaft pulley off ? did you use a puller or can you gently 'tap it off'

Sorry for the delay - only just seen this.

I carefully shot some WD40 between the pully and shaft then taped it from the inside with a suitable impliment (probably a big old screwdriver). As soon as it moves tap it back and then using a combination of tapping it back and forth you can eventually get your fingers behind it and ease it off with even pressure. It isn't tight on the shaft but it may be stuck on gunge. The WD40 will ease it but take care as it might slip right off easier than you think and it will hurt your head or toe if either should cop for it!!!

Thanks Anchorman

No problem, I managed to get a puller behind it and it came off quite easy. I now have the head off and have a quarter inch burn/split in the head gasket between cylinder 3 and 4. Took head off with turbo still on and inlet manifold. The injectors where a bit of a strugle to leaver up and 2 off them had knackered O ring seals.

Head and block look good, so just waiting for a few seals and gaskets before I put it back.

Mike
