Water Sound From Dash/vents.

Hi guys

I started car yesterday and heard a trickling sound from the dash like water trickling,,,,got me worried. Is it the start of something serious,,,,or is it something to do with airlock. Heating is fine and temp.

The car is an Avensis 08 Tr just under 98k.

Could be an early sign of head gasket failure.

Keep a very close eye on the coolant level and have the coolant tested for signs of contamination by combustion gases.

Its manufacture warranty runs out in a couple of days,,,I think I better get it down there ASAP.

This is not good news.

So the sound of water is the first sign of head gasket going.

warranty has been extended to 7 years and 117k for HG issue.

the noise could be air in the system.

Have you checked the radiator coolant levels

I get the same noise on my 2009 2 litre cvt tourer T4. I usually hear it when I switch off the engine especially if the air con has been on. Its been happening since new and I have covered 30K miles with no trouble. I have always put it down to air in the system.

Sounds like it could be the start of the head gasket going! Mine has started to do that again. And mine is on the 2nd new engine. Its at Toyota again to see if this !Removed! gasket is going again after less than 4000 miles. The extended warranty for the gasket is approx 112k or 7 years with Toyota service history. Hope you get it sorted out.
