Passenger Air Bag - Off Please!

Hi all

Hope you can give me some advice, or it's bye-bye Corolla!

Our family is about to grow, the rear seats are already full with two large rear facing cars seats (the sort that work rear-facing up to four years of age, so very large) and now we have number 3 on the way!!

We could get by with one of us slipping in the back and the new baby using the front passenger seat, but here's the catch: as a 2002 Corolla, it doesn't have the key on/off for the passenger air-bag, so it can't be used with a (normal small) rear-facing infant seat.

Argh.

Either I get a switch fitted, or I find a 'garage' way of turning it off and on, or it will be bye-bye Corolla.

Any thoughts anyone? Besides retrospective contraception, I've been around that one and it doesn't work..!

pretty sure it cant be done had a look through the celica and u.s corolla manuals and no mention of turning off the passenger airbag :censor: you could wire in a switch but the srs ecu will pick it up as a fault and then you will have no safety system

could always get a Roof Rack

It is a 10 year old topic and the OP hasn't visited the Club for 10 years - so not known.
