Poss Prblems!

Just wanted to run a couple of things by you all. I have a Auris TR 2.0D with 18000 on the clock. I have two things that worry me.

1. After a couple days I noticed that possible the front brakes squeek loudly a lot at slow speeds when the brakes are hot. If i do a motorway run then drive around town the squeeking is at it's worst at slowing to a stop 15 mph to 0.

Cant be sure but def the a noise from the brakes, front or rear I cannot be sure.

2. Last week starting to hear a squeeling noise from under the bonnet. I don't drive the car everyday, my wife does so last week was the first time i have drove it from cold. I stared the car up and there was a slight squeeling noise from under the bonnet when. I opened the bonnet the noise was coming from the O/S of the engine bay. Sound like a slipping belt. The car has 18000 on the clock which would really suprise me if it was a belt. We have not even had the car a month.

Want know peoples history with problems before I tak eit back to the dealer.

Thanks

Do you always have the squealing noise, or is it only above a certain speed? Might poss be the wing mirrors, as they can make a squealing sound when you go above 60ish on a lot of the Auris'. Mine has been in 3times to have this sorted and it still does it! Just a flaw with the design of the wing mirror cover.

No def the brakes only when i brake sounds like the brakes pads are crap and bad quailty . I had a nissan track car that massive 6 pot brakes on which did not make anywhere as near this much noise.

Only chucking it in there mate, I had the same problem and went back to toyota and after a few days they started squeakin again. So i got my my round to av a loo and he was telling me alot of the brakes they put on nowdays, they dont apply copper grease just a pad on the back of them. So he just cleaned them up for me and greased them been fine since.

I had a same problem with squeaky brakes on my Auris 2008.

There is one TSB describing a problem as bad material in brake pads, with up to 2008. Auris affected.

Toyota replaced my old pads (BOSCH) with some other new model 1.5 years ago, as per TSB, and now squeaking is completely gone.

The brake squeal you are experiencing is coming i am sure from your front brakes although the rear brakes also made a noise on mine, but more of a mooing sound when reverse braking , get your dealer to apply the fix for this issue which is not a new one, Toyota came up with a fix for this problem a few years ago in which the old pads were changed for a new type and the shims were changed.

Does the squealing noise from under the bonnet happen when you rev the engine, your description does sound like a slipping belt to me, either way take the car back to where you bought it from and get them to check it out.
