All shall be revealed, Dee.....I now have two brand new ones coming from Mr.T under warranty (should be done by now, but they lost the f..f...foateez..!!!!!).

Thanks to yer good selluf, I now have 2 other "brannies" from The Bay of Fleas. It is my intent to treat them all to a right good sealant coat, and eventually put normal tyres on them all like ma mate Shaun McWardude done did, and he seems as happy as a sandcastle.

To further complicate, I also already have "in stock" a very slightly used '180 wheel with a new RUNFLAT tyre thereon, which will be getting "cleared out" in the not too distant. I deem it only fair that, come the time, I should first offer it to Blue Monster....anything to prevent a Welsh Terrier at ma heels....!!! (If he could PM me to confirm his future interest that would suffice...?)

So when ALL ma wheels are changed, it will obviously leave me with two very good condition wans thereafter, as the maffamaticians amongst us have already worked out....oh the quandary....do I carry a spare, or Squirty Wirty Gunk Stuff?

Do I sell both, or keep one...? Cue DRAMATIC music.....

Big Kev....Wheeler Dealer.

good on ya McKev. Like you said, I am happy now. I have even taken out my spare (unless I go far) and just carry a can of tyre gunk and the tel number of the 24 hr mobile tyre fitter as I now know if I get a puncture im not tied to Mr T and his stupid RFT system. Now its a simple job of a new tyre at approx £110 which I can get anywhere wooohoooooo. On that note im off for a Mcdonalds. Mcburger, mcchips and a mcflurry. If I get a puncture im blaming you B)

Just spoken to Pentagon to ask if they had any more & they advised that the wheel is not new, has had a tyre on it in the past and has some minor marks aorund the outer edge/rim of the wheel. It comes complete with the TPMS and has the code with it.

Doesn't seem that good a deal any more when there is a place down the road from me that refurbs wheels at £50 per corner.

I'm also after a spare 18" rim to go with the part worn tyre i have in my garage. But i was too late with this deal. I even emailed Pentagon but they replied Friday morning that they have no more.

However..

On way to work Friday night i noticed my fleebay watch list had emailed me about another. When i went into fleebay store on my phone Pentagon were listing 2 more 'used' ones for £50 including P&P. I raced into work around 9pm and straight on to fleebay to find only 1 left. Anyway i snapped it up and just hope it is real and will arrive in good condition with the TPMS valve included. A bargain for a spare me thinks with postage included. Thanks for the tip off Davrav. Woohoo :yahoo:

If it's only for a SPARE, why do you need the TPMS intact? Why not just fit a normal priced tyre, with NO Bridgestone Steel Ring, and use it for exactly the purpose, a SPARE...? If you need to use it, it may incur the TPMS warning light for the duration it is on, but the saving in cash of having to buy a steel ring, and also pay Mr.T to log another sender unit on to your TPMS controller, would far outweigh the temporary inconvenience of a flashing light.....????

IF the system is working correctly, the light would have come on anyway, or why else would you be using the spare...?

Justafot,

Big Kev (as taught by Marsky....hope I was listening good....)

I can understand folk wanting a spare and i can understand folk wanting to keep the RFT System in place until the tyres have worn and need replacing. But i cant understand anyone wanting to pay crazy prices for replacing tyres when you can more than half your costs by going the route i took. We have run cars for years without needing any stupid gizmo telling us we have a puncture. Besides, when I lost air in my tyre it was down to 18psi before the light came on. By this time I already knew I had a puncture. Most cars now have a can of tyre gunk instead of a spare anyway. well, Wardude has spoken, so go get those bands cut and the pink wire snipped for a hassle free life with ya Ravs. Let the flak commence

I know i said i was saying nowt but i cant help mesel. Besides, i taxed my car last week, serviced it last week and spent £600 replacing all 4 tyrees a few weeks back so im skint. So there..

When we bought the Rav the garage we bought from agreed to replace 1 of the tyres as it was low although still legal. I had this done at the local Toyota and asked to keep the tyre. So all i needed was a rim and i'll get the old tyre put on and keep it for long journeys or emergencies.

I see the point about the TPMS but as its only a spare i don't plan to get it registered to the car anyway so i guess it doesnt matter if it has the TPMS valve fitted or not.

Also yes i am removing the rings as and when the tyres get replaced over time. 1 down already, 3 to go.

Cheers
