I have seen a glovebox door on eBay I just wondered if anyone had bought one and what they are like.

Got ours from Toyota when we bought the car...

Got one the first week I had the car. Really easy to fit and it does make a difference to the car. I'd say it's well worth paying for one.

To point out the difference (as to the untrained eye it's not THAT obvious): the upper (good)

one has a SLIDING catch, so there's a"lip" at the bottom of the silverish grey handle.

The lower (older) model had a catch that "tilts" wilt a flat bottom.

You want to avoid this one, as the catch is loaded in the same direction as it's opened, so it

can fall open by itsself. And on top of that it can push itsself to bits due to the internal spring...

sorry for dragging up old posts but i figured this is better than creating a new one :)

does the glovebox lid require any screw holes drilling?

Posted

No, although I think screws are provided the thing simply slots in and you attach the cord support. Mine lasted like this for nigh on 2 years and I have just put it into my new Aygo.

Simples !!![

I wondered what the cord was for although i cant seem to find which hole it goes into :S

If you look under the right hand side of where the glove box fits into it`s "hole" you will see a square cut out and the little plastic end from the cord just slots into this. Rather crude, but as with most simple things, it works!
