hi ive got a idle problem with my celica gt4 st185rc idles around 1500 rpm stays above 1. problem started few months ago didnt think nothing much of it now neighbours started to complain about the noise just need it a lil quieter if it helps.

ive fitted a new vaccum line coming from the back of the the inlet manifold to the greddy type s had a look seems fine thougt this was the problem but didnt help.. ive also checked for leaks air flow vacuum pipes e.t.c seem fine..iridium plugs leads dizzy rotor arm all done less then 2000 miles ago

a friend did say could be tps sensor and told me to get the voltage at idle and would have a look?i think this problem started after i fit the stage2 ct20b turbo.ive now boosted it up to 0.9 bar for the first time in two years on owning my gt4rc and the thing !Removed! moves im surprised how fast it is... any ideas on the idle issue anyone?

Yeah sounds like a vac issue.

Have you checked the throttle cable just to be on the safe side? In case its got slightly stuck or over tightened. I personally would pull the throttle cable out the arm and start it up to quickly see if it does anything.

Throttle Position Sensor is possibly my next port of call.

After that i'd look at vacuum. Try blocking up the pipe for you're boost controller to see if that make a difference.

ive had a look at the throttle cable took it out the arm still seems to be the same problem...ive noticed when i remove the negative terminal to reset ecu revs high around 2000 rpm even when warm then gradually come down to 13 to 1500 rpm..

my a friend coming to look at my tps sensor this weekend will keep people informed thanks for the reply..

ive been told you can advance igition timing is there any benefits to this???
