About To Sign For My Iq 2

Hi all

I was looking to buy a new used car to replace my 2007 Clio. My wish list was something good looking, cheap to run and well built. Initially I was pretty set on buying a Fiat 500 until I saw an IQ at my local Toyota dealer.

Anyway I took her for a test drive and I have to say I was really quite impressed so placed my order.

Since then I've read up about the recalls and would like to ask other ownwers if they regret their purchase or are you still in love with the car as I was when I drove it?

As in love as ever!! Don't be put off by the recalls (they are assurance that Toyota is taking your safety seriously; the brake recall was the result of some softness of the brake pedal - only 3 reported incidents in UK and no accidents reported)

I have to say the recall issue hasn't bothered me at all. I doubt you have read what I said about my car as the comment is buried in one of the other threads. I have to say it is the best car I have ever bought. I was looking for a small car and dismissed the Smart as my sister had one and I didn't like the narrowness of it and the awful gearbox. I then spied on a Aygo only to find it has a similar gear box.I then by chance came across an iQ on-line and knew immediately I wanted one,and I wanted it in white !!.I went down to my local Dealer and there it was, only been in a day and I bought it without even sitting in it or test driving it. Sounds crazy but that's how it was. I have done many things to it since i bought it only 2 months ago, the latest is fitting a leather kit which was the only thing for me missing when i saw it. It is a fantastic car and very proud to own it. You will not be disappointed.

I looked at a Fiat 500 before buying my IQ. I wanted a somewhat unusual car, but the Fiat is quite common here while I've only seen a couple of other IQ:s (and all of them were company cars). Biggest problem with the Fiat though was that I simply couldn't fit in it (the roof is way too low for me) - in the IQ I sit quite comfortable, even though my car does not have height adjustable seats.

I'd say go for the IQ :)

Thanks all for your replies.

The one I'm buying is Pearl White with chrome strip on the boot and door sills.

I really do like the look and drive off it. The only gripe I have is the very plain dashboard compaired to the Fiat.

Ps I have already named her so that must be a sign

Hi Lisa

Mine is the same pearl white with the door chrome etc I do know what you mean about the interior and there have been many people said similar things but when you sit in it , it feels big and spacious. Stand back and look at it, it looks just great. The Fiat is far too rounded for me. Take a look at Afe's car on this site , he has some lovely pic's of it and what you can do with it.

Let us see som pic's when you get it

To be fair it seems I was one of those 3 and it was a little more than softness, it hit me on a dual carriageway and if I didnt think to pump the brakes I wouldnt of stopped in time which wouldnt of been fun.

Saying that though I still love flinging my Iq around its a great little car!
