To Lower Or Not To Lower ...

In my wheel thread I wrote that I considered lowering my IQ, and a friend of mine who is pretty good with Photoshop saw that picture and decided to lower it for me:

This picture pretty much made up my mind - it has to be lowered. What would you say? I think I might even go for lowering it before I do anything about the Speakers ...

You know your just going to have to do it!!! If you haven't driven one thats been lowered then I have to tell you the handling is superb, the cornering is out of this world and overall stability outstanding. Even when I had to put my original wheels back on for a few days it was great far far better than the original springs.I have not tried lowering by 35mm only the original toyota 25mm ones. I might try 35mm later, the trouble is its still under warranty so felt I had to use the toyota version. Here is a few pic's took this morning with my DRL's on

You will know yourself if you are going to be driving on snow.

We do get enough in Scotland,

& an iQ can cope OK on prepared roads.

(you decide your self what needs switched off,

& snow tyres not wide tyres work well)

An Iq is already limited by how low it is as standard, but i real enjoyed driving one this past winter.

So like any other vehicle it is no use trying to get through 6"-8" of unploughed snow if you are just pushing snow in front then loosing traction, & lowering the chin by 25mmm or 35mm is just makes that more of a problem.

Its a case of knowing its an Iq & not a Land Cruiser, it will only do what it can do.

As a job i normally spend a lot of time every winter towing out upmarket 4x4's, where the owner cant understand why they have spent all that money & even specced winter tyres & still cant get anyplace.

This last winter, driving passed struggeling 4x4's in an iQ really seemed to be rubbing it in.

I can't actually tell the difference...

Also, I hope you never have to go over any speed humps or go anywhere near a major pothole-infested city!
