My car is a 2006 but I would think the control will work the same .....

To arm the cruise You push the button on the end of the cruise arm.

This should light up a symbol on the dash to inform You that the cruise is ready or armed if You like.

To set the cruise press the arm downwards

Once set pressing down and holding will decrease the speed

Pressing upwards and holding will increase the speed.

using either the clutch or brake pedal will cancel the cruise but still leave it armed

To resume Your last set speed flick the arm upwards and the vehicle will resume its last set speed

When You turn the ignition off the cruise will switch off or disarm so will need arming again before using again...

HTH.

Not sure if you are aware Charlie but on the 4.3 it can also be cancelled, but left 'armed', by flicking the stalk towards the wheel. Really useful if you want to loose some speed but don't need to brake. Had mine ages before I discovered that

Have you noticed that, on an aircraft, the Captain always sits in the left hand seat...................

I tried that, but it seems to cause an awful whining sound....

Strange that,I get the same too,and it seems to somehow affect the radio and heater setting as well.

That thumb wheel on the dash is the dash panel dimmer switch.

The cruise control is on a stalk.
