Yaris Ts 2003 Rear Emblems Removal

Hello guys!

I have this 2003 Yaris TS

Photo here!

I would like to know how to remove the rear emblems..

I mean the central Toyota logo and the "Yaris" text-logo on the right.. are they only sticked or do they have some little "nails" inside the lift-gate body?

Rear emblems example foto

So, if I remove them will I have some holes in the body?

Moreover, is it difficult to remove them?

Which technique would you suggest? (hair dryer?)

Thanks a lot everybody,

Kind regards

Tommi

i found a sponge dipped in hot water helps sofen the sticky back plastic, not sure id use hair dryer. I found on my toyota logo it had been stuck on with sticky foam but had a small pin on back. the rest just came off. I cleaned up with some tar remover from autoglym -

The Toyota emblem shouldn't have any 'pins' in it but it's impossible to know until you try and remove it. The mark 1 phase 2's don't but I don't know about the phase 1's. Your best bet is to use waxy dental floss to slice it off - it'll cut through the glue easily. If you start at one side, you'll soon know if you've hit a pin. Once the Badge is off, use gentle heat from hair dryer to warm up the glue and peel it off. As above, tar removed or wd40 should bring the residue off. Finish off with a polish and wax.

Thank you guys!

I will try to remove it.

And do you think is it a dangerous operation for the paint? Any risk to remove the paint as well?

Ciao, Tommi

As long as you're gentle with the hairdryer you won't harm the paint. Are you in Italy? Park it in the midday sun for a few hours and you shouldn't even need a hairdryer - just use the dental floss as if you're cutting cheese and slice the Badge off. Then be careful when removing the sticky pad residue. You can get a lot of it off with your fingers, just don't catch your fingernails on the paint.
