Rav4S In Angola

Currently working in Angola for a spell. Toyota have the market stitched up here. I have never seen such a high percentage of 4x4s probably 80%,but after seeing the state of the roads thats no surprise, never again will I ever compain about potholes and speedbumps. Currently have the use of a Land Cruiser for travelling to work, with a local driver, there is no way we ould drive here, the lack of manners, roadsigns and aggresive driving would have you killed within minutes of getting behind the wheel.

Cant wait to get home to drive my Rav, funny how you miss it.

The local taxis are toyota deisel minibuses, probably about 20 to 25 years old(venga buses)and it is testament to toyotas reliability that they are on the road, albeit is fairly evident that there is no such thing as MOTs out here.

All ages of Ravs are out here and still running. When you take into consideration 6 months driving on these roads would be equivelant to more than you could subject a car to in its lifetime in Britain thats no mean feat.

Hi,KN.

Hope you survive intact from Angola,I suppose its a case of when in Rome etc, with regard to the driving.

Shouldn't be surprised about the longevity of Toyotas after seeing how Top Gear attempted to destroy one.

Being that old af well it would be poffible to repair them with tin canf, wire and fticky backed plaftic,oh,and muftard for the radiator!!

Note the old time writing(I think)

Good luck out there.

Well, i´m in Angola too (about 2.5 years now...)Wait until the rain season comes.......We got to go drink a beer, lol :toast:

In Scotland, we drink beer when the weather is nice, like when the rain stops.....in other words, we don't drink beer.... :crybaby:

He spaeketh the truth - I had 3 weeks in Scotlandshire, in August - saw the sun twice, and wasn't quick enough to get to the pub before it rained :(

Look on the bright side though, the place is lovely and green
