20K Service

Can any one say what is done in a 20k service, and what parts are replaced?

Thanks

In my case it was a 2 year service and only the oil and oil filter was changed.

The brake fluid was supposed to be changed, but wasn't.

The pollen/cabin filter was supposed to be checked/changed but wasn't even checked for dirtiness.

The wheels were not removed or even the car lifted to properly check the brakes/bearings.

The "health and safety" check could not be done as "the car was too dirty". They then washed the car and gave it back!

The washer fluid was not topped up.

It seems to depend on which dealership you go to.

I would be interested to see a definitive service schedule of what is actually supposed to be checked/changed at each service.

The Service booklet lists lots of things, but my invoice had only oil, oil filter and screenwash listed as 'parts'. £250

for an oil change seemed a bit steep ...

Peter

I can show you what I mean with an invoice of repairing ONE (1) lightbulb!! € 63,36 in total :o

Together with the recall of the steering-wheel-thing...

PS The car is on the name of my wife... :)

I'm pretty sure there is a Toyota service plan booklet that came with my iQ, and I bought mine used rather than new. It details exactly what is supposed to be changed or inspected and at what intervals. I'll bring it out the car tomorrow sometime if I remember and post up what it says.

It dose "exactly what is supposed to be changed or inspected and at what intervals"

In effect you can do it your self. at less cost

replece, oil & filter, cabin air filter, clutch flutd, brake fluid,

the rest is just a inspection

Remember if you have the brake recall, you wont need to have the brake fluid changed as its part of the recall...so get this knocked off the price.
