Hi to everybody,

I'm new to this forum. I bought a black iQ some weeks ago(2nd hand). I had it already lowered and it looks great. The previous owner had already put alloy wheels but I don't like them very much. Wonder what kind of wheels look great on a black iQ? Silver, black, deep dish, multi spoke etc. Will be glad for your help. Will try and upload pics soon

I would go for "black-anthracite" ... soooo.. kind of blackish....

Peter

On the other hand... high gloss chrome would be nice / with a lot of wheel-spokes...

I would go for anthrasite and chrome. And definitely lots of spokes. Mine has those wheels and it looks great!!!!

Had a couple of mock ups done by a mate and definately think that multispoke are a lot better than spaced out spoked wheels IMHO

Thanks David, your iQ looks great. May I ask you what model & size? Does your iQ consume more petrol now?

Hi Marcos

I don't think your pic up-loaded ok.

The wheels are 215x35x18inch the springs are lowered by 25mm as well. I changed the wheels the day i bought the car so not sure what fuel economy was like. Plus, I now have a custom exhaust on it and have put a K&N filter on it Which has improved the BHP . Mine is a Auto Multidrive and around town i get around 42mpg and at 56mph I get 52mpg. Hope that helps. Just a note The acceleration is slower with larger wheels. Oh and at 112mph I get 36.7mpb

try again!

Very nice Marcos. What size wheels are they, There doesn't seem a lot of gap left in the wheel arch. A lot of people choose 17inch wheels and 205, 7inches wide and 45 profile. seems the best all rounder.

They are just 15" with 185/60/15 tires, but my iQ is lowered 35mm, that's why there is not much gap left in the arch wheel. Yes, the 205/45/17 seems to be the best all rounder. However the 195/45/17 tires offer almost the exact same wheel/tyre diameter as the original 175/65/15, but are difficult to find and more expensive it seems. Haven't decided yet what to do, paint the existing wheels(have a lot of scratches) or go for new ones.
