Prius Road Test

I recently asked the dealer who I purchased my last car from for a 24 hour test and luckily they had just put on a brand new t-spirit prius in Black on the road with 12 miles on the clock! my impressions of the car were very good the acceleration was fluent and the ride was smooth I achieved 65 miles MPG on the 50 mile trip back to the dealership so better than I expected especially on brand new car.

It looks like I will be taking the plunge as the deal offered by the Toyota Dealer was very good and will add the protection pack !regarding colour it looks like it will be silver as white(always dirty) ,black, blue or red (shows stone chips)

Will let you know when delivery will be and expect I will be asking for advice in the future

Actually White stays remarkably clean. I have always had Silver cars as they don't show the dirt but thought the Prius in Silver look 'unfinished' and the Blizzard White suits the shape much bettter. I was also very concerned about White looking dirty all the time but I have had it 6 months now and I think I have washed it 5 times - mostly during the winter months - and it rarely looks grubby. Mind you all the heavy rain this summer has helped wash off most of the dirt lol. Anyway point is - dont dismiss the White as it really makes the car stand out from the crowd.

Not sure why you think that black, blue and red shows stone chips ??

Surely if the paint chips it shows on any colour!

The pearl white is exclusive to Toyota's hybrid models, which was one of the reasons I went with it. I was 50/50 white or silver. My test drive car was silver and I liked it, but in the end I thought it a bit too bland and made the car look like a repmobile. The Prius is pretty poorly served by colours, IMO. There are few to choose from and even fewer that suit it. The colour I would have really liked is the pale blue metallic offered in some asian territories, but not here, sadly.

White always dirty! I disagree. I have the pure white and it stays very clean. My neighbours Silver car on the other hand shows every mark, particularly when it rains!

What's with Toyota UK limiting colours for the UK market anyway? They are all made in Japan so whats the problem with offering UK customers the widest possible number of options available from the Factory?

Red Yaris the last blue car I had which was a deep blue had a white primer base which always seen to show up any little stone chip in white . Maybe modern paints being water based you do not have this problem my blue Verso being a metallic does not have this problem and always looks reasonably clean

We have a metallic silver one and it looks nice especially with the styling pack I think. But it is a kind of a weird silver toyota uses, it has got a rather matt look to it for a metallic, not as bright as I am used to from German brands. I prefer Pearl White, think that works very well but my wife hated it and I know who is the boss.
