I am the proud new owner of a 2.0GT convertible.

To learn about my new pride and joy, and to help me keep it running smooth I decided to get a maintenance manual for it, simple I thought. Not so.

Haynes don't do them, and Toyota also claim not to do them.

Haynes did say that if I give them my engine number, they may be able to cross reference it with an American publication. This sounds a load of twaddle just to get a book. Are they yanking my chain.

Haynes do have one. We got ours from Amazon. They also do a Chilterns workshop manual at Amazon. Look for Front drive celica manuals. Do a search for CELICA in the books section, they are on special offer at the moment (only £9.98)

Thanks for the info, didn't think hard enough, Amazon...., of course.

Just one Query, does it cover the convertible.

I plan to replace the top soon, and need the info for a d.i.y.

Unfortunately it doesn't cover removal of the convertible roof, I would imagine the only place you'll get that sort of detail is the manual issued to dealers. I think you can buy these but you'll need a fat wallet.

i had to replace my covertible top...its not in the manual..chilton that is.. i went to a shop and paid $1200..window included..the 2 back power windows also broke, $300 for the right and $400 for the left...just to replace the motor...convertible parts are a complete rip-off..and toyota makes it worse!! I will definately think twice before purchasing another convertible..and toyota...
