right it seems it is getting a new 3/4 engine but says they are not allowed to have an engine sat waiting, seems i may have mistook his stripping parts for the parts that need fitting to the replacement engine ie water pump etc. Also said they have 4 cars in waiting for engines.

Nobody is going to strip an engine and rebuild it with a bag of bits for one simple reason.................They wont get paid!!!!

The 3/4 engine is the ONLY way the dealer will be paid

My reference to the bag of bit was in the initial instance when it was thought it was going to be stripped and rebuilt, and the fact when I do something like that I always seem to have a bag of bits left over!

Oh crap, I feel like I have been fed some right crap here now. I never thought about it but the service guy's last comment when I was leaving was if I ring up dont speak to anyone else but him as otherwise things tend to go pear shape when more than one person starts dealing with it.

Need to decide now where to do the argueing, either over the phone or first thing in the morning at the garage itself. Think I may go through to see how far they have got, he did say there were going to start it straight away. At least if I go in I can see exactly how far on with it they are rather than getting anymore crap fed to me.

Is there anywhere that actually states this 7 year extended warranty that I could quote when I speak to them.

Thanks for all your help/advice.

Jason

Here you go Jason - see attached PDF

Hi from a newbie and not a petrol head, could you tell me how you Know if you have a 2AD engine.Only my Rav4 is blowing out coolant and useing oil.

At the moment Toyota have asked me to do a 600 mile oil check, after takeing it in yesterday. But I don't know what engine I have, other than to say it's a 2.2 Diesel 4D4 2007 year.
