Toyota Aygo 1.0I Alternator/ Fan Belt

The car makes a slipping noise when I first start up in the morning then stops, it also happens when I start up after work, I got a friend to tighten the belt but still the same?

Bought a new belt and it still does the same and we think we have tightened to it max the belt is very stiff, the noise stops after about 30 seconds so don’t think its a bearing but I am no expert with cars.

Anyone any ideas (thanks in advance)

If you adjust the belt to be too tight you risk damaging the alternator and water pump bearings.

If you press the belt halfway along the longest length the belt should have a deflection of 10mm.

can over tightning still make it squeel in the mornings
