hi i have a gen 6 celica changed the engine and box from a p reg carina

the distributor mine had 2 plugs the dizzy on the other engine only had 1 plug was from my car but the rest is from the carina

it starts and runs great the only thing is the choke seems to not come off and i had it analyzed it is running at 10% mixture consequently the tick over is a bit eratic and goes up and down a bit when i disconect the sensor above the brake servo it idels beautifully but lacks acceleration

my original head had the injectors in the manifold body the carina has them in the head i have left the carina manifold on as mine wont fit cus of the injectors

both of the engines are the 7a-fe model

i have changed the end part of the manifold with the 2 sensors but made no difference

the temerature guage seems to take twice as long to move to normal i have used my original thermostat which is in perfect working order

does any one have any ideas all suggestions will be greatfully received

i guess no one has any ideas then

Problem is not many people do much serious work on these engines.... the majority of celicas on here have 3S engines.

Sorry dude, havent got a clue.

No idea im afraid.

May be worth signing up to the Toymods website.

Its an australian forum and they are really quite clever chaps who get through lots of engine conversions.

If anyone can help you its these guys.
