After a recent test drive I have decided to order a new Prius T-spirit in silver with protection pack and front parking sensors I should get it at the beginning of October (my Toyota dealer gave me a 11% discount and a very good P/X price and were a pleasure to deal with as they have been in the past when I purchased other new cars from them ) .After having a Verso automatic doing poor miles per gallon I am looking forward to getting better MPG from the prius and think hybrid technology is the way forward

I would have liked the LED pack but delivery was end of December 2011

If you want an Automatic "gearbox" + Petrol + Good MPG + silent operation some of the time then currently I think the Toyota Hybrid system is the only choice, yes?

I'd really like to see some realistic competition, although I note you are very pleased with your Dealer, my experience of Toyota Dealers is mixed and Toyota GB is evidently appalling when it comes to after sales. I was disappointed that Honda didn't come up with something better to challenge Toyota...

I am sure you will be very pleased with the new car. I wish I had the safety pack but when I ordered waiting time was 6 months and I would have not got such a good discount. I just recorded 64.4 MPG on our Gen 3 on a journey which was mostly motorways mostly with air con on.Happy motoring.

I have to say the Toyota dealer which I have used for 20 years are superb in fact I travel a round trip of a 100 miles to use them it also helps that they are a lot cheaper in service costs than my local dealers and we get a lift into the city for my wife to do some shopping as well .

Regarding Honda I have always liked Honda but the range of cars they make do not fit my needs and think they are playing catch up with Hybrid technology it showed a lot of foresight from Toyota to invest in development of this technology at the onset

I agree with you with your complaint about Toyota GB my dealings I had with in the past was appalling a complete lack of customer care and would have thought with the admittance from Toyota that they had took there eye of the ball with regards quality control and not putting the customer first the attitude towards customer service from Toyota GB would have been different but to put it into context I think customer care from other motor manufacturers would probably be no different

Chris that sounds encouraging because of claims of poor MPG on motorway runs . I did achieve 65 MPG on the test drive on a 50 mile trip to the dealers on mixed roads on a brand new car which had just been registered it was quite funny I was driving how to get the best MPG not how quick I could get from A to B .

Every Toyota I have had the Headlights have been very poor on dipped bean that was the reason for considering the LED pack (and changing the bulbs is not an option as it invalidates the warranty )and as you said the waiting for the LED pack car and the deals available then and there was no guarantee of the P/X price when it came into the dealership so that option was ruled out

I do not have a problem with the Gen 3 headlights they seem adequate for all my driving needs. I must admit I have not done a comparison with other makes of car. I can say the Prius has better headlights than my neighbours Vauxhall.
